When are Export Credits used?

Export Credits are used whenever contact data leaves RocketReach. That means Autopilot, Uploaded Lists for enrichment, CSV downloads, integrations, the API, and MCP. One credit per contact, charged once.

Who this article is for: customers whose plan includes Export Credits — Unlimited Lookup plans, Custom plans and API plans. Free accounts, Base plans and monthly paid plans include Lookup Credits instead.

What counts as an export?

The following activities use Export Credits:

  • Downloading contacts to a CSV spreadsheet.
  • Running Autopilot. Credits are used as contacts are found and added, not when the Autopilot is created.
  • Using Upload List to enrich a CSV of people you already have.
  • Using Upload List to enrich a list of LinkedIn profile URLs.
  • Using an integration and selecting Export to after looking up a contact.
  • Using an integration with automatic export of contacts enabled.
  • Accessing person or company data through MCP in an AI tool. This applies on every plan, including Unlimited Lookup plans.
  • Retrieving contact data through the RocketReach API. Retrieval exports automatically; searching through the API does not use credits.

Autopilot and Upload List are export activities. They are often described as faster alternatives to looking contacts up one at a time, and they are — but they draw on the same Export Credit balance. Choosing Autopilot over individual lookups on the web-app saves you time.

How many Export Credits does an export use?

One Export Credit for each contact with verified contact information that you export. Contacts with no verified email address or phone number do not use a credit, and exporting the same contact again does not use another.

Do Export Credits have Standard and Premium versions?

Yes.  Export credits match the Lookup type on your plan.

What an export contains depends on what your lookups unlocked, not on the export itself. If your plan uses Premium Lookup Credits, exported contacts include phone numbers where they were found. If your plan uses Standard Lookup Credits, exports contain email addresses only.

For example, if you are on an Essentials Annual plan with Standard Lookups, you exports will be Standard as well.

Which plans include Export Credits?

The table below shows which credit each plan type meters:

Plan type

What it includes

What limits you

Free account Lookup Credits, three sets in total Lookups
Base ($5) Premium Lookup Credits, monthly Lookups

Monthly paid plans Lookup Credits, refreshed each cycle Lookups

What happens if I use all my Export Credits?

If your plan includes Unlimited Lookups, you can keep unlocking new contact data inside RocketReach. What stops is taking data out — CSV downloads, Autopilot, Upload List, integrations, the API, and MCP.

To purchase additional Export Credits you will need to upgrade to a larger plan at www.rocketreach.co/pricing.  If you are on a Custom or API plan, reach out to your Account Manager
