Lookup Credits vs. Export Credits

A lookup pulls contact data into RocketReach. An export takes it out. Most RocketReach plans meter one of these more tightly than the other, so knowing which is which tells you what your plan actually limits.

With unlimited lookups, you can access an unlimited number of contacts using the Get Contact Info button on RocketReach or the Add button on the browser extension. Export credits are required for other actions and tools, including Autopilot, Upload List, and API. Downloading contact lists to CSV or syncing contacts with an integration will use one export credit for every contact exported. Your subscription includes a set number of person export credits, and you can check the available credits from the account settings page here. Enterprise customers may purchase additional export credits by contacting their RocketReach account manager.

What is a lookup?

A lookup reveals a person’s contact information and saves it inside RocketReach. Using Get Contact Info in the web app, or Add in the browser extension, is a lookup.

One Lookup Credit is used for each person profile that returns at least one verified email address or phone number. If nothing verified is found, no credit is used. Looking up the same person again does not use another credit.

What is an export?

An export moves contact information outside RocketReach. Downloading a CSV, using Bulk Export with Autopilot, Upload List (People - CSV or LinkedIn URLs), syncing to an integration such as Salesforce or Zapier, retrieving data through the API, and accessing contacts through MCP in an AI tool are all exports.

One Export Credit is used for each contact with verified contact information that you export. Exporting the same contact again does not use another credit.

Which credits does my plan use?

The table below shows which credit each plan type meters:

What is the difference between Standard and Premium Lookup Credits?

The difference is what type of data the credit unlocks. Standard Lookup Credits unlock email addresses only. Premium Lookup Credits unlock email addresses and phone numbers when available.

A Premium Lookup Credit costs the same as a Standard one. Unlocking a phone number does not use an extra credit — what changes is the data you receive, not the price per contact.

Receiving both an email address and a phone number for every contact is not guaranteed. A Premium Lookup Credit is used when a profile returns either one.

If your account holds both types, which one is spent depends on your contact preference. Go to Account Settings, open Other Settings, and check the Lookup Type selection under Contact Preferences.

Standard Lookup Credits are available on Free, Starter, Loyalty, and Essential plans. Premium Lookup Credits are available on Base, Starter +Phone, Loyalty +Phone, Pro, Ultimate, Custom, and API plans.

Do Export Credits have Standard and Premium versions?

Yes. Export credits match the Lookup type on your plan.

What an export contains depends on what your lookups unlocked, not on the export itself. If your plan uses Premium Lookup Credits, exported contacts include phone numbers where they were found. If your plan uses Standard Lookup Credits, exports contain email addresses only.

For example, if you are on an Essentials Annual plan with Standard Lookups, you exports will be Standard as well.

Company Export Credits are the one real exception. They are a separate balance, required for exporting company data without associated contacts, and available on Custom and API plans only. The number of Company Exports you receive mirrors the number of Person Lookups or Exports you receive.
