How to set what kinds of email addresses you see

RocketReach gathers and tests as much contact data as possible for each profile. Depending on how you use the contact data, you may have a preference for what data you see, export, or use by default.

Overview

Looking up contacts, sending emails, and exporting with integration all involve working with email addresses and using credits. To ensure you are targeting the appropriate email address for your needs, and to help optimize your credit usage, please set your Email Type preference before doing these activities.

Detailed Definitions

Please choose the appropriate Email Type option that best fits your current needs. You can change and save the Email Type freely without restrictions as your needs change!

  • Professional email = A work email address, associated with current or past employer
  • Personal email = A non-work email address, generally from a free/public email service

Saved as "All emails"

👁️‍🗨️ See both types of email addresses
🪙 Credit will be used if provided either type of email address
📧 Messages and export with integration will use whatever email address has the highest score from RocketReach's internal scoring.

Saved as "Prefer professional emails"

👁️‍🗨️ See both types of email addresses
🪙 Credit will be used if provided either type of email address
📧 Messages and export with integration will default to professional first following this priority order:

  1.   A   professional (work) email
  2.   A-  professional (work) email
  3.   A   personal email
  4.   A-  personal email
  5.   B   professional (work) email
  6.   B   personal email

Saved as "Only professional emails"

👁️‍🗨️ See only professional email addresses; personal type will be hidden and unavailable
🪙 Credit will be used only if provided a verified professional email address
📧 Messages and export with integration will use only professional emails in this priority order:

  1.   A   professional (work) email
  2.   A-  professional (work) email
  3.   B   professional(work) email

Saved as "Prefer personal emails"

👁️‍🗨️ See both types of email addresses
🪙 Credit will be used if provided either type of email address
📧 Messages and export with integration will default to personal first following this priority order:

  1.   A   personal email
  2.   A-  personal email
  3.   A   professional (work) email
  4.   A-  professional (work) email
  5.   B   personal email
  6.   B   professional email

Saved as "Only personal emails"
