❓ What should I prepare before using Autopilot?

For the best results, follow this checklist of recommended steps:

  1. Verify that your email account is connected - Verify Here
  2. Save an email template for your initial outreach - Save Templates Here
  3. Set your preference for work email or personal email - Set Here or Learn More
  4. Find relevant prospects or candidates - Find Here or Learn More
  5. Start your first Autopilot!

❓ How many credits does Autopilot use?

Using Autopilot will consume 1 Lookup Credit (or if you have Unlimited Lookup Credits, 1 Export Credit) for every new contact where RocketReach provides verified contact info. Learn More

By default, Autopilot will try to return contacts with verified contact info (unless you select the option "Include contacts without verified data"). For example, if you setup Autopilot to find 25 contacts and repeat daily, then every day that Autopilot runs successfully you will use 25 credits.

❓ Where can I see my new contacts?

Every contact that is added by Autopilot is saved to its history. From the Autopilot management page, find the job and select the blue button "Action" at the right; in this menu, select 'View Contacts' to see contacts in the web app. From the 'View Contacts' you can then download to CSV.

❓ Can I delete or move contacts?

You can see the contacts accessed with Autopilot by going to the Autopilot management page and selecting 'View Contacts' from the "Action" button menu. This is a history or log of the contacts found by this Autopilot; it is not a list that you can edit.

Note: From My Contacts, you can add a custom tag to any contact, thereby creating a customized list of contacts. Learn More

❓ Can I change an Autopilot after it's started?

Yes, you can make certain changes. From the Autopilot management page you can view all Autopilot jobs and their details.

For any Autopilot that was created with a repeating frequency, you can toggle the Active status to stop (OFF) or resume (ON) future runs. Please Note:  One-time jobs cannot be changed to recurring jobs. Please create a new Autopilot.

From the "Actions" button on the right, you can choose 'Edit' to open the Autopilot configuration. Any settings which are allowed to change will be selectable; if you cannot click or interact with a setting, that means it is locked. Please Note:  The search criteria associated with the Autopilot cannot be changed here. Please create a new Autopilot.

❓ Where can I see my sent emails?

The Messages > Activity page provides a history or log of all the emails you have sent using Messages or Autopilot. You can see total stats on email delivery, opens, replies, etc. to help you gauge the results. The Messages > Template page also shows these stats, broken down per template.

To see the actual email body content, please go to your Gmail account and check the Sent folder.

❓ It looks like not all the contacts were sent emails?

No worries! Multiple best practices are at work here to help you get the best overall results.

  1. The optional Message step in Autopilot will send emails only to email addresses that receive an A or A- grade. Said another way, no email will be sent if the best available email is B grade.
  2. Emails are spaced out with 45 seconds between each send. A small Autopilot of 25 contacts will take about 20 minutes to send all the emails; a large Autopilot of 500 contacts will take at least 6 hours to send all the emails.
  3. Autopilot automatically determines when to send each email (weekdays only, 8am-5pm) based on the recipient's time zone. Please allow up to 24 hours and check again.
  4. If your total Messages usage reaches 500 in the past 24 hours, any further emails will be held to send later once your daily limit has cleared (weekdays only, 8am-5pm in recipient's time zone).

Why this matters:

Whenever you're sending emails in large volumes, the risk increases that your email account may be flagged, temporarily disabled, or permanently harmed if you are not careful about the email recipients.

  • By skipping the B grade email addresses in Autopilot jobs, you can safely benefit from the convenient automation with minimal risk.
  • By spacing out and slowing down sending emails, your activity looks less automated and more intentional, which helps your overall rate of email delivery.
  • By sending during normal business hours, your emails are less likely to be flagged as spam and more likely to be opened and read.
  • By reducing your daily volume, you're less likely to create problems with your email service provider and can maintain a healthy email account.

❓ Can I sequence multiple email messages?

Currently Autopilot works to send one email immediately once verified contact information is found. Once Autopilot is done, you can access My Contacts to review the people and email activity. From My Contacts, you can also send additional emails, including optional automated follow up emails.

We're working on additional functionality that will include creating series or sequences of emails from Autopilot. Stay tuned for these exciting updates coming soon!
