How do I connect my RocketReach account to Salesforce?

Sync RocketReach with Salesforce

The RocketReach Salesforce sync allows you to automatically sync your data from RocketReach into Salesforce as new leads, or as new contacts and accounts.

⚠️ Export-based Accounts (including Unlimited Lookup plans) will consume 1 Export Credit for each contact that is exported to Salesforce with the integration.

Please note that in order to utilize our Salesforce Sync feature you must be on a RocketReach Pro plan or higher and utilizing one of the editions of Salesforce listed below.

  • Professional Edition (requires an upgrade to paid Salesforce feature)

As shown in the screenshot from the Salesforce pricing page above, the Web Services API feature is required for this sync.

How to sync your Salesforce account with RocketReach

1. Enable Salesforce Sync by accessing your account page and clicking the “Connect to Salesforce” button.


2. Sign in to your Salesforce account to allow access. After this step, “Salesforce Sync” is now set up. 



Customizing my Salesforce Sync

From your account page on RocketReach, you can designate to push the data as a lead, or as a contact and Account into Salesforce. 



Automatic export for ALL your contact lookups is enabled by default when you connect RocketReach and Salesforce. You can turn this off from the Salesforce Sync section of your Account page in RocketReach. 


Having this feature turned on will remove the “export to salesforce” button and push data automatically, every time you look up a contact.

⚠️ Enabling Automatic Export will automatically consume 1 Export Credit for every lookup that provides at least one verified phone number or email.


How to export contacts from RocketReach to Salesforce

When you choose to "Get Contact Info" in RocketReach, you now have the option to export it to Salesforce. 


⚠️ Export-based Accounts (including Unlimited Lookup plans) will consume 1 Export Credit for each contact that is exported to Salesforce using the integration.

The data for this contact is now available in Salesforce. 


The newly created Lead in Salesforce will contain rich data including: 

  • Emails
  • Phone Numbers
  • Title
  • Company Information
  • Industry Location and much much more. 

Records created by RocketReach will be indicated by Lead Source = “Rocketreach Sync”

Can I map custom fields? 

Yes! The Salesforce integration now gives Team Admins control to change what data goes where, set additional default values, or make other custom mapping decisions. This functionality is exclusively available by direct purchase, please contact for pricing. 

How do I see errors for failed syncs?

You can view the error log in your account once you've set up your Salesforce Sync using the link below.

Can I export contact information for someone that already exists in my Salesforce account? 

If you have a contact in your Salesforce from a non-RocketReach source that is the same import type (lead, contact + account) as your RocketReach export, RocketReach will try to match that to our data using the fields listed below. We've mapped out the process of matching and updating here: 

You already have the person/company record in Salesforce.


You initiate the export of the same profile/company from RocketReach.


RocketReach identifies that the exported record matches one in Salesforce.


Salesforce updates the existing record with new data from RocketReach (accordingly to the update rules for every mapped field), instead of trying to create a duplicate.


These fields need to be an exact match for the lead or contact to be considered for updating:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email

These fields need to be similar (not an exact match) for the account to be considered for updating:

  • Company Name
  • Domain

If RocketReach can’t find a match in Salesforce with this data, one more try is given to check for similar results to the company name and any known aliases.

I am receiving an error "duplicateResult" after trying to export to Salesforce

If you try to export a contact from RocketReach that you already have in Salesforce as a different import type (lead, contact + account) than the export type you've selected in RocketReach, it will fail and log the error as a duplicate result. To circumvent this issue, we recommend converting the lead or contact in Salesforce to the same type you've chosen to export contacts from RocketReach as.

When I connect RocketReach and Salesforce, why am I seeing the error "The REST API is not enabled for this Organization."?

This error is directly connected to the version of Salesforce that you're using. To integrate with RocketReach, your version of Salesforce must have Web Services API. This feature is included in the Enterprise and Unlimited editions of Salesforce, and is a paid add-on for the Professional Edition.
