Difference between Annual and Monthly Subscription Plans

Comparison of Annual Billing vs Monthly Billing

RocketReach offers both Monthly and Annual subscription options, each designed to support different usage needs. While both plans provide access to our contact database, the biggest differences involve how Lookups and Exports work.

Key Takeaways

✔️ Monthly plans:

  • Include limited lookups each month
  • Offer unlimited exports — you can export everything you find
  • Lookup credits reset monthly and unused lookups rollover month to month on paid plans

✔️ Annual plans:

  • Offer unlimited lookups (up to ~10,000/month under fair use)
  • Include a fixed number of exports for the full year
  • Best for high-volume searching and long-term use

✔️ Lookups let you reveal contact details inside RocketReach.

✔️ Exports let you take that contact data outside RocketReach (CSV, CRM syncs, Autopilot, API, etc.).

✔️ Choose Monthly if you need to export everything you find.

✔️ Choose Annual if you want broad, ongoing access for high-volume prospecting.

This article breaks down how each plan type functions so you can choose the plan that best fits your workflow.

What Are Lookups?

A lookup is the action of revealing contact information, such as personal or professional emails, phone numbers, or social profiles, from RocketReach search results. Lookups happen when you:

  • Click “Get Contact” on a profile.
  • Run bulk lookups through Autopilot.
  • Upload a CSV using Upload List.
  • Perform lookups through the RocketReach API.

👉 Lookups allow you to view the data inside RocketReach.

What Are Exports?

An export is when you take the contact data out of RocketReach for use elsewhere. This includes:

  • Downloading a CSV.
  • Syncing contacts to a CRM through Native Integrations or Zapier.
  • Exporting from My Contacts.
  • Exporting from My Companies (requires Company Export Credits, which are different than the Person Export Credits and must be purchased separately).
  • Bulk data pulled via Autopilot or Upload List.
  • API lookups (exports are used automatically).

👉 Exports allow you to use RocketReach data outside the platform in your outreach, pipelines, or reporting tools.

Monthly Plans vs. Annual Plans

Now that you understand how credits are used for certain activities and tools, hopefully you can picture which tools you will use and how many contacts you need.

💡 Annual means one payment per year. For your convenience, the plans & pricing page shows a breakdown of the annual amount divided by 12 months so you can easily compare against the monthly price – notice the built-in discount for choosing annual! If you chose an annual plan, you will pay the entire fee immediately at checkout.

Monthly Plans
Monthly plans are designed for users who need predictable monthly activity and a fixed number of lookups.

Key Features:

  • Limited Lookups
Monthly plans include a set number of lookup credits each month.
  • Unlimited Exports
You can export all of the lookups you perform, there is essentially no cap on exports as you can export an contact you lookup up.
  • Refreshes Monthly
Lookup credits reset on the billing date each month.
  • Rollover Credits
Unused lookup credits expire after 12 months or when you cancel the subscription, whichever comes first.

Best For:

Users who want flexibility on a month-to-month basis, and users who need to export all the data they look up.

Annual Plans

Annual plans are built for higher-volume teams or users who need broad access to searching.

Key Features:

  • Unlimited Lookups
Annual plans allow unlimited contact lookups
(with a fair-use limit of ~10,000 lookups per month).
  • Limited Exports (Yearly Allocation)
Each annual plan includes a set number of total exports for the full 12-month period.
    Exports do not refill monthly.
  • Lower Cost Per Contact
Committing to bulk wins you the best rate, ideal for power users or larger teams needing high search volume.

Best For:

Users who perform a large amount of prospecting in-platform, and users who need to export only the highest-priority contacts.

Which Plan Should You Choose?

Now that you know how the plans and credits work, you can decide which plan best fits your needs. Here's our recommendations:

If you need… Choose
Unlimited lookups and heavy in-platform searching Annual Plan
Frequent exporting of every contact you find Monthly Plan or Large Annual Plan
Immediate access to 1,000+ contacts Ultimate Monthly or Any Annual Plan
Simple fixed monthly usage Monthly Plan
Highest value per lookup and long-term usage Annual Plan

💡 Reminder:  Don't forget data type and other features! Essentials plans (monthly and annual) will include access to email address only. If you need access to phone numbers, please choose a Pro or Ultimate plan (monthly or annual).
