Summary
This Filter Group: Role & Department
Included Filters: Job Title, Department, Management Level, Changed Jobs Within
What it Does: The Role & Department filters can be used in many combinations to find people based on their current role and title with their employer, an important step to make a connection with the appropriate relevant person.
How to Use It:
Use any combination of the filters within the Role & Department group to create a broad or narrow search. You may need to test various combinations to find what works best for your particular needs.
Within the Role & Department group, using multiple filters will use "AND" logic. For example, selecting Management Level is C-Level and Changed Jobs within is Last 3 Months will return people who match both criteria (current role is C-Level and changed jobs within last 3 months).
Within each filter, selecting multiple options will use "OR" logic. For example, if you enter multiple Job Titles (such as teacher, educator, instructor), the search results will show people with any of those titles.

FAQ & Troubleshooting Tips
❓ My search has too many results
If you're using the Job Title filter without the "Exact" modifier, this can result in a large number of results (depending on your specific search term). Before you change your Job Title criteria, check if you can utilize other filters (like Location, Industry, or Contact Method) to improve the overall search quality.
❓ My search has too few results
If you're using the Job Title filter with the "Exact" modifier, please note that this will limit the results to show only people with that exact title. For example, if your criteria is "President and CEO", the search will attempt to exactly match that complete phrase exactly as written. Depending on your intent, you may turn off the "Exact" modifier, or add other Job Title variations to expand the allowed criteria.

Guidance from Mission Control
- When starting out, it may be easier to use a Department and a Management Level instead of trying to pick individual Job Titles. Departments are a horizontal organization, and Management Levels are vertical; when used together they create a cross section. With as few as two selections, you can quickly focus in to the right area of the business!
- Job titles vary by company, by industry, and by geography. If your first criteria doesn't return the results you were looking for, try synonyms (like Account Executive vs. Sales Executive) or different modifiers (like Head of Product vs. Director of Product).
- Try using the Job Title filter as a keyword, and select one or more Management Level to filter to decision makers or end users. Example Search
