Automatic Pipeline with Job Postings | Workflow Examples

Automate New Prospects Using Signals

Use job postings to find companies that are actively growing, tag them for your team, then let Autopilot fill your pipeline with the right contacts automatically.

Overview

The Workflow: Company Search → Use Job Postings filter → Apply Team Tag → Autopilot with Sequence

Why it works: When a company posts jobs, they're telling you exactly where they're investing. This workflow turns that public signal into a hands-free pipeline. You find the right companies, tag them so your team has shared visibility, then Autopilot pulls the right contacts and drops them straight into a Sequence — all without repeating the work.

Best for: Sales and marketing teams that want a repeatable, low-effort way to keep their pipeline full.

Before you start:

  • Make sure your email mailbox is connected in Messages.
  • Have at least one active Sequence ready to go. (Learn More: Sequences)
  • If you're using Team Tags, confirm your team has a Pro, Ultimate, or Custom plan.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open Company Search and filter by Job Postings

Go to Company Search. In the left-side filters, scroll down to the Signals section and click Job Postings to expand it.

Check the box (or boxes) for the role types that signal a good fit for you. For example:

  • Selling sales tools? → Select Sales Roles.
  • Selling dev tools? → Select Engineering Roles.
  • Selling HR software? → Select HR Roles.

Then choose a time range. Past 1 month is a good starting point.

💡 Pro Tip: Add other company-level filters too — like Industry, Employee Count, or Location — to keep results focused on your target accounts. Job Postings works best as a layer on top of your core criteria, not as a standalone filter.

Step 2: Apply a Team Tag to the results

Once you're happy with the company results, tag them so your team has visibility.

In the top right corner of Company Search, set your Active Tag to the appropriate Team Tag (or create a new one). Then use the checkboxes to select companies and click Add Company. The Team Tag will apply automatically.

If you have a large list to tag at once, Upload List is faster. (Learn More: Team Tags)

💡 Pro Tip: Name your tag something that reflects the signal and the date, like "Hiring - Sales Roles - May 2026." It'll be easier to find later.

Step 3: Switch to Person Search and filter by your Team Tag

Now go to Person Search. In the filters, find the Company Tag filter and select the Team Tag you just applied. This scopes your results to people at the companies you just identified.

From here, add person-level filters to target the right contacts:

  • Job Title or Role & Department
  • Management Level (e.g., Manager, Director, VP)
  • Location (if relevant)

Step 4: Launch Autopilot with a Sequence

Once your Person Search results look right, click Start New Autopilot in the bottom left corner.

In the Autopilot setup:

  • Set your desired number of contacts.
  • Optionally limit contacts per company to spread your outreach.
  • Under the Messages step, select the Sequence you want to use.

Click Create Autopilot. RocketReach will look up the contacts and drop them into your Sequence automatically.

✅ Done! Your first emails will go out within minutes (if it's a weekday), and follow-ups will send on schedule, no monitoring needed.

FAQ & Troubleshooting Tips

❓ What if my Company Search returns too many results?

Add more filters. Try narrowing by Industry, Revenue, or Employee Count to focus on your ideal accounts. You want quality over quantity here — a tighter list means more relevant outreach.

❓ What if I don't have a Sequence set up yet?

You can still run Autopilot and skip the Sequence step — contacts will be saved to your My Contacts page and you can email them later. But setting up even a simple 2-step Sequence first will save you time and improve your results. (Learn More: Sequences)

❓ Can I run this workflow again next month for fresh results?

Yes! Set Autopilot to a recurring frequency (weekly or monthly) and it will automatically pull new contacts that match your criteria on a schedule. (Learn More: Autopilot Recurring Frequency)

❓ Do Team Tags require a special plan?

Yes, Team Tags require a Pro, Ultimate, or Custom plan with two or more users on the same billing. If you're on a solo plan, you can do this same workflow using personal Tags instead.

Guidance from Mission Control

Layer your signals for the warmest leads. A company hiring Sales Roles (Job Postings) that is also researching your category (Company Intent) is a very strong target. Use both filters together to find the accounts most likely to engage.

Use job titles in your outreach messaging. If you know a company is hiring Sales Reps, your email to their VP of Sales can reference that growth directly. Relevant messaging gets replies. Generic messaging gets ignored.

Set it on a schedule. The real power of this workflow is the recurring Autopilot. Set it to run monthly and your pipeline will keep refilling itself without any additional work from you.
